Cathy Padilla, an Arizona resident and volunteer for Gilbert's biggest non-profit organization, now faces more than 100 felony charges for her alleged involvement in a prescription drug ring that police say defrauded insurance companies by at least $10,000.

Padilla, 47, is one of seven Valley residents accused of selling drugs obtained through fake prescriptions from a Mesa medical clinic. Before her arrest, Padilla had been in charge of Gilbert Promotional Corp an organization that raises money for a variety of charities.

Padilla had been under investigation by police for more than a year before being arrested. The investigation revealed Padilla who worked as a manager at Mesa Pain Management Center in Mesa, allegedly called in prescriptions for herself, her husband and son. Police discovered the drug ring after a pharmacy called a nurse at the clinic to verify a prescription. When it turned out to be fake, the nurse called police.

Records show Padilla received about 53 fake prescriptions for Norco, a brand name for the pain reliever hydrocodone, in the past 12 months. According to an article published by the Arizona Republic, Padilla sold each prescription for $100. Police also discovered that Padilla had stolen blank prescription pads and also sold them for cash.

Girls in Bikinis Burglarize Cars

In Arizona, burglary is categorized when a defendant enters or remains unlawfully in a non-residential structure with the intention to commit theft or a felony. In the video posted above, two females, dressed in bikinis, burglarized several cars in Lafyayette, Louisiana stealing a wallet, a pair of sunglasses in addition to a navigation system. The incident occurred on Tuesday at the Lafyaette apartment complex Police are still investigating the surveillance video. EMT Pulled over for Failing to Yield

The video depicted above involves a confrontation between Oklahoma State Troopers and an EMT. The EMT allegedly did not yield on the way to a hospital to drop off a mother and son. Police pulled over the ambulance and claimed the EMT was resisting arrest. The officers then proceeded to shove the paramedic against the ambulance before deciding to let him go. Oklahoma State Troopers met the EMT at the hospital and made the decision not to arrest him. According to CNN.com the EMT could press charges against the officers for assault and criminal misconduct. On the other side police say the EMT was resisting arrest. Beauchamp Law Office knows far to well the severity of all the charges listed above. Teen Dies After Police Force Uses Taser Gun

The video depicted above relates to a recent lawsuit filed by a mother by the name of Renee Mitchell against Detroit’s Police Force. The lawsuit is a result of Renee Mitchell son Robert Mitchell a young teen who decided to run from police after his cousin was pulled over for having expired plates. Robert who suffered from a leaning disability ran to a vacant house where police used a Taser gun on Robert for resisting arrest. Robert may have died from the use of aTaser gun police and family are stil waiting for his autopsy report. Although police had warrant to use a Taser gun, the death of Robert in Renee’s eyes is considered to be murder. Police around Arizona consider Taser guns to be a non-lethal force but according to Amnesty International 350 people have been killed by Taser guns in the United States since 2001. Aggravated Assault

Aggravated assault is a serious crime in Arizona that carries serious penalties for those that are accused. The incident occurred on Tuesday night after of Jesus Vega, 53, allegedly pulled out a knife during a verbal disagreement with his girlfriend. When officers arrived at the home in the 13600 block of West Fargo Drive at approximately 7:20 p.m., they were informed that Mr. Vega, had gotten into an argument with his girlfriend about the woman's daughter, stated Sgt. Mark Ortega, a Surprise police spokesman.

Vega was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal damage, disorderly conduct and assault.

O.J. Simpson has appealed to the Nevada Supreme Court

Trouble and O.J. Simpson seem to go hand and hand. After his acquittal of murder, Simpson now faces a lifetime behind bars. In latest news, O.J. Simpson has appealed to the Nevada Supreme Court to overturn his most recent conviction of armed robbery and kidnapping.

The incident that took place in September 2007 occurred in a Las Vegas hotel room where Simpson allegedly committed the following crimes: robbery with a deadly weapon, burglary with a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon and finally first-degree kidnapping with use of a deadly weapon.

Simpson faces anywhere from 9 to 33 years behind bars.

Girl, 11, assaulted in park bathroom

“An 11-year-old girl was assaulted in a bathroom at a Queen Creek park Monday night and police are seeking the public's help in locating the suspect.

At about 8:50 p.m. Monday night, the girl was approached and assaulted in the women's bathroom at Desert Mountain Park, located at the southeast corner of Ocotillo and Hawes roads, a Maricopa County Sheriff's Office press release said.

During the attack, the girl screamed, causing the suspect to flee on foot, the release said.

The suspect was described as a white male in his late-20s to mid-30s, clean shaven with short hair, greenish blue eyes, approximately 6 feet tall and a thin build.

He was last seen wearing a white baseball cap with a green skull design, a green short-sleeve shirt with "John Deere" printed in yellow lettering on the front and dark blue or black jeans with tears in both knees.

The suspect also had a gold stud earring in each earlobe.

Man sentenced to life for shooting ex-girlfriend

“A Tempe man found guilty of fatally shooting his former girlfriend was sentenced to life in prison without possibility for parole Wednesday.

The sentence came a month after the conviction, according to the Tempe Police Department.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Teresa Sanders issued the sentence. Ivan Hernandez-Olvera, 28, shot and killed 22-year-old Felicia Renee Alarcon in Chandler on Nov. 17, 2007, leaving her body in the road near Price Road and Warner Avenue.

Investigators suspected the two were arguing and had just stepped out of a car when the shooting occurred.A man on a bicycle witnessed the shooting.

Hernandez-Olvera fled the scene and was apparently headed to Mexico when by police and border patrol agents captured him in Nogales,” (Channing Turner)
